It seems the Left is working overtime trying to create new ways to separate the American earners from their money.  Just this week I have seen accounts of proposed taxes on soft drinks and tanning services, and now John Podesta is floating a value added tax on all goods and services with few exceptions.  Podesta puts forth the idea that the time is right for such a tax, not as a substitution for income tax, but as an additive.  If you haven't heard any of this, you might want to get yourself fitted for a hearing aide - but be careful.  They're  contemplating a new tax on medical devices, the so-called Qtip tax, as well.  It doesn't take an economist to derive the fact that most of these new taxes will, indeed, be borne by the middle class.
